Default Console storage box

We just picked up my wife's new 2010 RX and drove 350 miles home. The first impressions of it are: quieter, roomier, and more comfortable than our 2009. The only downside we found is the console storage, it really stinks. You can't open the lid far enough to access items in it easily. The power point and aux. connectors are close to the bottom and hard to access. The only 12V power points are in the bottom of the console and in the cargo area.
We use the power point only for charging cell phones and it appears that task has become much more difficult.
But, I think it will be worth overcoming these small problems. Everything else appears to be much improved.

Congrats on your new car!

Did you get a better deal from dealers 350 miles away? just curious. Your local dealer won't match the price or your nearest dealer is just 350 miles away?
It's been mentioned before about the 12 V power outlet that there no easy access where you can plug in radar detector or cell phone charger. How about the option "Two-prong 120V AC power outlet"? Same place?

Our closest dealer is 150 miles away. They would match the discount off the MSRP, but would not come close to the trade in offer for our 2009. We got within $1500 of what we paid for the 2009. We live in Odessa, Texas. Closest dealer is in Lubbock (150 miles)next is El Paso (290 miles) , then DFW (there are 4 dealers there).

If you only use the outlets for charging cell phones, why not get a separate charger dedicated to this car, plug it in and forget it. If you need more than one, Radio Shack has a device with multiple outlets. Just run the ends to the top tray and all the big ugly plugs and wires stay at the bottom of the bin, out of sight, and you will never have to touch them.

As JB330Ci said above, we have heard many users complaining the same thing, the weird location for the power outlet. Also, since Lexus makes customers so difficult to configure their own '10RX350, it's almost impossible to get that two-prong 120V AC power outlet unless you upgrade your RX with packages, which are limited in some areas, too. For example, I like to get the additional power out, but it only happens when getting 51K (or 53K) MSRP RX in my areas. Since that RX is rare, it's even harder to get the discounts.

53K RX has the features I like (HUD, auto-folding mirrors, outlet, 19", seat-extended, etc), but it's stupid to pay 7K more MSRP to get those features.

Congrats!

It seems you get the pretty decent trade-in value for your 09. Wow. If I were you, I'll do the same thing and enjoy my ride for 700 miles.
