Orzel, how old was that Cadillac you drove? Both Cadillac and Lexus use the same HUD supplier, Nippon Seiki, the technology is the same.
Older, although I admit, I do not recall the exact year, hey it's been a while and the second thing to go is the memory. What I do remember was that as opposed to the RX, the Caddy HUD was less than impressive. My opinion is the Lexus did a good job of integrating this into the vehicle.
Still can't get past that new RX snout though........
Yeah, I know, as I look at mine virtually every day, and I owned a RX300 before this. However, all that aside, the new one is, in my opinion, just plain butt ugly from the front. Looks like the chinless wonder, or like someone tried to graft an IS grill and snout onto the RX, just doesn't sem to fit, and is unbalanced in my eyes. Let me put it another way, I'm not in the least bit impressed with the exterior.
the thing is that the new auto styling in new cars is geared so that the front bumper no longer sticks out longer than the hood, and that the hood reachers to the end of the bumper. i guess that is what you're having a problem with
great review, and i agree, the new RX is ugly! but...we will eventually trade our rx400h in for an rx450h in a couple years because of MPG and reliability. there is just not much else to pick from in the market
I am probably mistaken, but I thought that HUD also showed audio features as well. Also, I assume that if you have a destination entered, it will show you where you need to turn ahead. Is that correct? Or, do you only see this on the Nav. screen?
That's an unusual reaction to the new models by Orzel. Generally, the hi-tec, completely revamped interior is the part that takes the most getting used to, while the most common reaction to the exterior styling is that it's hardly a restyling at all, and looks too much like the 2nd Gen cars. My guess is that most people will not notice the difference (with readers of this board being, of course, not most people).
Personally, I am not at all bothered the exterior looks. In fact, I rather like the exterior looks. However, I love the interior comfort, high tech features, and looks.
