Wondering if any here have found and used an upgraded or updated version of MAF sensor for 3RX cars, some aftermarket sensors for other cars claim improved performance over oem.
My experience with other car care forums I utilize has convinced me that switching from the proper genuine Denso MAF sensor to some aftermarket one is like playing with fire.
Claims are claims and RX line is not a performance line. The fuel metering is closed loop system and just tweaking one portion will end up being compensated by another. Nothing comes for free and a change here can change indicators but some other thing/factor will change.
One thing for sure will help is to cut down on the weight of the RX. Although I can not recommend but things like user manual, spare tire etc will improve performance.

The spare wheel compensates for the significant weight at the front of the vehicle. Removing it disrupts the weight distribution balance, which can lead to understeer. You need to lighten the front end—for instance, by maintaining only the minimum required levels of engine oil and coolant, and by not filling the windshield washer fluid reservoir (just kidding).
Thanks, let me rephrase to ask if the Toyota MAF sensor # 22204-31020 is the correct one to use in 2013-2015 3RX cars or if Denso has developed any better for these cars in the last 10 years and if replacement is preferable to cleaning for optimum performance.

Do not rely on anything on the net ... [hmmm should you trust my advice?]
Call the dealer parts and give them your vin. I would only trust parts that I get through the dealership. For me, I save on labor and don't mind paying premium price. Although you should ask for discount.

PS: The above may not apply for generic stuff but anything electronic or related to engine, stick with genuine OEM.
