First a big thanks for following up.

Without naming [up to you if you want to]

How would you rate the body shop? I know there is no insurance company involved but I am using

Best [they don't deal with insurance companies], Superior [one has to coerce insurance companies to go here], run of the mill ... typically nation_wide chain [insurance suggest these], entry_level.

Thanks, Salim, for your reply. While I think it might be inappropriate for me to name the body shop, or its location, I can tell you that it came highly recommended by both dealerships and service shops, and I didn't hesitate when I heard them out, and considered what they said about this body shop. I also compared my initial experience with, and quotation from this body shop I chose, with the replies I received here on ClubLexus. First of all, the estimator LISTENED to what I had to say, what my objectives were, what I expected of him, and how I wished to move forward. His estimate was inline with everything I shared with him. Secondly, he used "...a parts price match program that takes aftermarket pricing [to provide] OEM parts so your Lexus will have OEM Lexus parts." That saved me money while securing genuine OEM parts! Thirdly, he asked for a deposit that was only enough to cover his parts exposure, ordering them immediately so that the job would proceed forward as reasonably quickly as practical. Lastly, I get to drive my car until everything is ready for "installation day," when the old bumper cover and side retainers will be removed, the fog lamps saved from the old bumper cover for installation in the new cover, and the painted and clear coated bumper cover, side retainers, etc. would be installed and inspected by his team before I pick up the car. Who could ask for more???

How would I rate this body shop? I suppose the final rating comes when I view the finished product, but up to this point, I have nothing but praise for this body shop. They DO, indeed, accept insurance, but they understand that this is an "uninsured" repair. I have seen a few of their finished cars and trucks, and what I saw appeared to be nothing short of first class. I was left with the impression that they would actually prefer to deal with uninsured cases, and I believe a good bit of their work (some of which is not covered by insurance) comes from dealers and independent service shops in the area; hence, how could these dealers so confidently recommend them?

I will stay in touch, with follow-ups included. Photos of the "before" will follow soon, and of course, the all-important "after" photos will come after I pick up the car.

AGAIN, THANK YOU FOR WALKING THROUGH THIS WITH ME! It's folks like you that make this Forum worthwhile!!!

Appreciate the kind words, but in all honesty it is the members who create the culture.

Members like you share their experience which enriches the forum.

If it was not so, I would have not been here 25yrs.
