Well it has taken awhile but she has Lexus in the garage again
2022 F-Sport with 26K. And in her preferred color, Atomic Silver. The red interior is a bit much, but the seats are better than the non F-Sports we drove.
So she's officially totaled. Insurance is giving us just under $14K for it. Not mad at that.
Dad will NOT be upgrading the '07. They want $6200 to buy it back.
Anybody wanna sell me their RX450h?
$14K for your totaled 2015 isn't bad at all I get. Especially now that you have the "newer" RX in the garage
If you don't mind share how much the new ride cost? Did you get it from Lexus?

$45K and change.
Lexus dealer had a pair of 2021s, one black one atomic silver. Both w/Lexus certified warranty, both around 50K miles. Both of those were around $40K. Neither were optioned quite as well as the F Sport. We had just missed a really nice 2019 with only 30K miles, that would have went for around $33K.
Ours came from a Mitsubishi dealer, of all places. One owner, or technically, one lessee. I asked the salesman, you guys get this from an auction? He was like, yeah. How'd you guess? I was like, nothing personal, but nobody has ever rolled into a Mitsubishi dealer in a low mile, late model RX and said, I gotta trade this POS for one of those Outlanders.
He chuckled, and nodded in agreement.
As it always seems to go, spent more than I really wanted to spend, but I can see this being a 10 year car for her. She claims it drives much more like her old '07, which she preferred to the '15 the deer took out. I was happy to get the last year of the 3.5 V6s, and I really don't like the looks of the 2023 and up RXs.
And for anyone in the market near Indy, the Bentley dealer has a really nice 2022 black F-Sport with only 9600 miles on it for about the same price we paid. We'd have bought it, but I'd just really rather not have another black one.
It is frightening how prices have skyrocketed since the pandemic. In late October 2018, we paid $29,400 plus taxes for my wife's 2015 RX350 with 32,000 well-maintained miles. It had just come off a three-year lease in Florida. Sure hope we do not need any additional vehicles anytime soon... .
MSRP on the wife's 2010 was $46k. What's a comparable 2026 RX MSRP today, about $15k higher? Average about 2% increase each year over the last 16 years?

I think newer cars are getting uglier, and they all look alike. My wife and I just talked about how people used to pay money for car design, engine build. Some high end sport cars are like an art back then. The current gen RX just has an odd design IMO. Oh, the upcoming ES...I will just keep driving/fixing my LS430
