Was anyone going to tell me about the cost to insure my new RX?
Holy smokes, I just put a deposit on a 2023 Lexus RX Premium. Adding it to my current policy is $2,400 a year! I live in Michigan, with great credit, no tickets or accidents. Is this premium anyway normal? I'll be calling around on Tuesday for new quotes.
You may definitely want to shop around. Is this replacing are being added? Do you have someone under 25yrs old? Lots of variables to take into consideration.
My insurance was really cheap for my RX-500h. I was able to trade in a 20-year-old Infiniti G35, change insurance companies, and was able to insure the RX for slightly less per month. That means either the old insurance I was paying was too expensive or the new company and vehicle were surprisingly affordable.
Insurance depends upon many factors like the company, your driving history, credit, age, etc..
As a blanket statement if you have good driving, good credit, and are over let's say 45-50+ you should be fine on insurance.

Car insurance has seen large increases over the last year or so, in part due to the increase in claims following the quiet of covid, as well as increased cost dues to parts shortages, and the additional costs of loan cars for longer periods. In addition, the latest model RX's are suffering increased theft due to security vulnerabilities.
No doubt the insurance companies are taking advantage too, so best to either negotiate or shop around. In the UK I was quoted £860 for renewal on my 3rd gen RX, which was reduced to £660 after a phone call. People buying the latest model are struggling to get insurance at any kind of affordable rate over here.

we have two Lexi now (2013 and 2023) and pay $1500 per year....it has been written that many insurance companies have found that people rarely shop around, so they keep raising rates and people keep paying the higher premiums. It's definitely worth checking out another company or two.

Those cheaper 'introduction' rates ("Save $500/year with XXX") are only temporary.
Sorry, Flo & Jamie.
