Recently it's gotten below 1°F and my Lexus RX350 2015 that I got used 3 months ago has started whistling on acceleration to 40mph. I'm not sure what is causing it.
You answered your question with the provided information that it is extremely cold being below 1 degree F which caused the rubber door gaskets to shrink, the metal to contract, and apparently to allow for a little air leak which causes the whistling noise.
Other components on the engine & emissions will be affected by the extreme cold, etc which could be other noise sources and the noise will probably go away when things warm up. If it drives normally otherwise, I would just wait until it warms up and if the noise goes away, move on with worrying about other things.
Thanks for letting me know. It hasn't warmed up above freezing here this week. So I couldn't be sure if it was just a sound it made in the cold. I was worried it could be a bigger issue. Googling car whistling sound in cold gives you all sorts of scary results.
Turn off the HVAC fan and see if it's still there.... I couldn't tell by the video if it was related to speed or not. If it's related to speed ie drivetrain, well NVM.
