Stereo misbehaving, any ideas?
So I've got a 2010 RX350, and everything has been fine until last night, when things went wrong, with bizarre symptoms.
First, when I turned the car on, I got what musicians call "the Peavey pop" as the power amps came on; I don't recall hearing them before (this makes me less likely to suspect the amps).
Second, no audio, regardless of inputs chosen.
Third, no response from the system to turning the volume ****. When I twisted it, the banner at the top that shows the volume did not appear.
Turning the car off and back on didn't help.
Any ideas?
It also needs the software upgrade, since it's not accepting audio from any phones newer than circa 2019, I don't know if that would help (unfortunately, my nearest Lexus dealer is an hour and charge away).

There is an electrical connector under the console that can be disconnected, sprayed with electrical contact cleaner, and reconnected. Several owners have reported that this action restored their audio system to normal function. If I remember correctly, that connector is grey in color.
This is the thread referenced by RX in NC. Good luck.

Doesn't sound too difficult to me. See post no. 24 in the "Loss of audio" thread that Clutchless referred to above. It tells you where to find the access panel underneath the console, how to pop off the lid, and even shows you a photo of the electrical connector in question. Does that post not apply to your 2010 model?
