Does anyone know what I need to order so that I can attach my bike rack to the back of the 330? Do i need the full towing package?

 

Why would you not just go ahead and get the towing package? It's quite cheap and gets you a heavy duty radiator (good thing) and transmission cooler (very good thing, even if car is only used to haul a bike!).

I'm about to replace the '99 RX of SHE WHO MUST BE OBEYED and am adding the towing package so I can put a rack on at some point but primarily for the aforementioned heavy duty hardware.

 

I fully agree with mooretorque. The only downside is the delay in probably having to special order, but it sounds like you're prepared for that.

 

Correct me if I'm wrong, but even if you get the towing package, you still have to get a hitch put on, right? My RX came with the towing package, but you can't see anything visible on the vehicle exterior to show that the towing package is there.

 

You are correct - the "Towing Package" should really be called "Towing Prep Package" as it does not include the hitch itself. As noted by mooretorque you get a heavy duty radiator and a transmission cooler, plus wiring to the rear to connect to a trailer. All RXC330's in this area come pre-packaged with this "option" already installed. But to get the actual hitch, you need to pay extra.

Has anyone in the U.S. posted a picture of the hitch yet? I remember seeing one from Australia, but cannot recall any posted by a U.S. owner.

 

For RX300, is this "towing prep package" available (dealer or aftermarket) as an "accessory", or is it only available on "new" cars ?? Can it be added on to an existing RX300 / 330 ??
