Hi everyone, how are you? I was wondering what pads/rotors are you running on your Rx that you find give good performance but also last long?
i changed out my pads (ceramic) and coated rotors (forgot brand name...parts store brand) 2 years ago. Stop wise they are ok but i think that they are getting warped (quick grab/release feeling in pedal when stopping).
who is the oem parts for pads and discs for our cars?
thanks

Unless there has been a recent change, either Advics or Akebono are OEM.
As for the rotors getting warped (I am sure you did this already), but check run-out. Since purchased new in 2004, our RX330 has a bad history of leaving pad deposits and the annoying pulsation that comes with that. Last brake change, I advised the shop of the history and since then, no issue with pulsation and the vehicle is well past the normal 20-25k when it has started in the past.
Cdnewton.... thanks for the info.
what is the pad "run out" you mentioned? I don't know what that is? How do i check for this? What do i need to do?
i usually (once a year) grease the slider pins when i change out my tires.

I run OEM rotors with Akebono ProACT pads or Raybestos EHT pads. The OEM rotors are super cheap for me in my area and are made by Advics in Japan, nice quality. I've run Centric a lot in the past and while they're quality is nice too and they have a better coating on their rotors (also on the back of the hat too instead of just the front), they are a little pricey to ship because I get them from Rockauto. OEM pads are expensive and only have an EE friction rating and feel weak, Akebono ProACT have an FF rating and are the same MFR as OEM but feel better and are half the price. Raybestos EHT are even cheaper at half the price of Akebono ProACT with a friction rating of GG and they bite even harder, but aren't quite as smooth as the ProACTs.
Hi gang. So i saw a video about rotor run out. So if it is that i would either have to get rotors resurfaced or get new rotors, correct? Either way, would i have to get pads resurfaced or changed as well?

Was looking online for pads and rotors and came across Max brand pads and rotors. Any of you use this before? Good/bad? Do they come with all the hardware too?

Never heard of them.....Really best to stick w/ known brands....As to increase the pad/rotor life as well as increased braking power, best to go w/ the gen3 setup. The cost of the gen3 pads/rootors are pretty much awash, just add a pr of gen 3 reman calipers, Single piston vs dual piston calipers as well as a bigger surface area pads as well as slightly bigger diameter rotors. I'd also at least replace the brake hoses, I went w/ SS brake hoses as well as flushing the old fluild w/ new dot 3 fluild. Can't beat the cost effective direct bolt on, increased braking performance/power.........

Probably Max Brakes. I tried a pair on my Camry. Utter ****. Stay away, IMO.
Get some Bosch Blue pads with whitebox/cheap coated rotors and be done with it. Works great, I run this combo on three Lexus' & a Toyota.
