Default sync key fob to Lexus FREE

  1. For my RX330, don't need special equipment. my new unrecognized key has a 4D68 transponder. simple to get car to remember the key.
  2. sit in driver's seat and close all doors
  3. insert working key and remove from ignition four times and insert once more leaving key inserted.
  4. do not turn the key when inserting and removing.
  5. open and close driver's door six times.
  6. security lamp on dash should be lit solid indicating the mode is correct
  7. remove working key, insert new key, security lamp flashing.
  8. wait until security lamp goes dark. (about sixty seconds).
  9. New key is now recognized by car and can start engine.

out of interest, where did you acquire this info? Does it also work for a rx 350?

I have no information about RX350. I feel sad when I read posts which indicate a locksmith or dealer or special tool is required to sync the key fob transponder with the car's security disabling electronics. I had watched a service writer in Nissan dealership sync a key fob to car by inserting and removing the working key about five times, then inserting the new key. At different times I have purchased new key with 4D68 transponder. The steps I have described have accomplished the sync between key fob transponder and car. No discussion in this thread about syncing the remote control buttons. (lock, unlock, windows open, alarm trigger)
