Changing Front Parking Brake Cable
Hi Everyone,
My front parking brake cable is broken on my Lexus RX330, 2004. I changed the cables that come from the rear wheels to the middle of the car but I need to change the front cable. It seems a bit complicated since the cable goes inside the car from the bottom of the car and reappear right behind the foot pedal assembly. Does anyone know which panels should be opened to get access to this cable? and is there any instruction for this maintenance? Any information or picture can be very helpful. I searched online and didn't find anything. Thanks.

It's in pretty bad shape, it broke right behind the foot pedal. I replaced all parts from the drum hardware to other two cables. Better to replace this one as well to make sure it remains reliable after all.
Thanks for the help. I got the job done. Basically, the cable is right under the driver seat. So, you don't need to remove the center console to get access to the bolts that keep the cable in place. Just take the drive seat out and push the carpet back until you see the bold. These are two 10mm bolts that come off easily. The more difficult part of the job is to install the cable on the foot pedal assembly. For that, you need to take off the plastic cover under the steering wheel. Then you will have enough room to put the cable. Try to first install the cable on the assembly before going under the car to connect the cable to the equalizer. If you connect the cable to the equalizer first, you will find it extremely difficult to push the cable to it's position on the foot pedal assembly.
