Hallo .I just bought a touch screen for my RX. Its an android 9,bought it from Aliexpress it has everything,, wasnt cheap , Had it all hooked up (plugged in).It is working perfect ,but a warning light came on by the clocks ,about srs.apparently it is not reading the Air bags too.I changed it all again to the black and white screen ,and is normal now.Can anyone help,or had similar problems???Thanks

 

Did you transfer over the airbag light from the original radio/nav unit?

If you don't mind sharing info about what you are installing and walkthru with pics and info that would be awesome.

Also, plz post the wiring info that was included in the new unit so we can have a look and see what's not hooked up properly and make the Air Bag Light error go away.

If you post the included wiring info that came with the unit and pics of installed unit too that would be cool so we can see.
You may have it wired correctly according to their wiring info but need to verify they sent correct wiring.

I wish i had the manuals ,but no luck for them to send it .I had a friend helping me he has a business of fitting stereos and all this stuff.Will let you know tomorrow.He said he has some idea ,anyway,of what to do,I just tought that someone here on the forum had a similar problem

 

Oh yeah I had similar problem and know exactly why you have airbag light.
They didn't give you wiring info and you never posted how you wired it.

 

Will keep you posted. im working on it saturday do to circumstances changed.

Lexuswiz above is correct, see link for info about P-AB wire- this is the cause of airbag light.
Still like to see your finished work pics and any info you can provide for install walkthru for anyone else following your work.

*Plz observe caution notes in thread and manual- this wire connects directly to the Air Bag Center Assembly ECU!

For anyone doing an android upgrade there are 3 different wiring schemes(maybe more) for the air bag wires. Above link is for 2004 and uses only 1 wire(P-AB)



In 2005+ air bags have 2 wires(PAON & P-AB) as seen here- "Multidisplay" is Navigation and "Center Cluster" is Non-Nav version.





Somewhere around 2007-2008 wire colors changed again.
In 2008 air bags also have 2 wires(PAON & P-AB) as seen here but wire colors changed- "Multidisplay" is Navigation and "Center Cluster" is Non-Nav version.

 

i think this also might be the problem .I have 2 sets of cables.Might of used the wrong ones

 

So a year later, how do you like it? I see comments on Amazon on these type of units saying that it is slow to respond and the sound quality sucks. What are your thoughts, any problems? Does everything work or does anything irritate you?
