Default Loud Rear Wheel

Have 2006 RX330 FWD Its to have a lot of noise (left rear)at highway speeds. All tires are new, less than 8K on them . Do not here the other tires makes a lot of noise at highway speed. My guess is a wheel hub. Is this a common problem on RX330? And how can to check it before you replace it THANKS donmck1950@aol.com

since you have a FWD, you are in luck.

jack up the rear of the vehicle, and spin the rear wheels by hand, and compare the noise/ vibration.

thats your suspect.

other option is to just replace both, they are 100 bucks each at rockauto

Does the pitch of the noise change when you drive from asphalt to concrete? If not you have a bad wheel bearing.

This helps if you end up jacking up although it will be tough to get any speed on the wheels.

It is not a common problem but they do go bad once in a while for some people.

you wont need a stethoscope, if the wheel bearing is bad, you will hear / feel it when you turn the wheel by hand,

you should be able to spin it plenty fast by hand

Might be the tire. Have a 2002 RX300 that had a 'thrumming' sound in right rear.
Tire tread was lower on one side of tire, but tire balanced perfectly.
Name brand tire. Was surprised. Just lived w/the noise for a while until it was time to replace all four.

+1 for raising the rear wheels off the ground to test

+1 replacing both sides even if only one is bad
