I recently purchased a 2009 rx350. I was wondering if the red blinking security light should be on when the security is not active. When I activate it, the light stays solid for about 30 seconds and then blinks off and on. It is armed. The alarm works correctly if I open a door. When the alarm is deactivated, the light stays off as long as the key is in the ignition. When I take the key out, the light starts blinking again with no activation to the security system. Is this correct? It just seems strange to me that when it is not activated and the key is not in the ignition, that it blinks as if it is activated. Could this be much of a drain on the battery?
