Default New Strut Assembly [4]

Ref: 2009 Lexus RX-350, 149,000 miles [cont'd] no air suspension

Retired so trying to save some money here....looks like i need 4 new strut assemblies....several shops quoted me around $1200 plus tax for 4 struts assuming they buy the strut ***'y....they all like KYB or Monroe Quick ***'y....so i went on Rock Auto and i can buy 4 KYB's for around $340....each shop told me that they would charge me for labor[maybe 2 hours worth] only BUT would not warranty any of the struts they installed so if a problem occurs in the future i would have to pay for the labor to take strut off then i would have to send back to RockAuto[or Amazon] for a replacement then pay again to install....so being not mechanical i 'm not sure of the chance that something will happen to the new shocks after they are installed..would like help if possible....thanks

This behavior is normal and to me, expected. I really doubt you will have any issues, I have to this day never had a DOA strut, especially when installed correctly. KYB would be my choice over Monroe but that's personal perference.
