RX400h US vs EU differences
My father is considering an RX400h, and spotted a 2008 RX400h for sale in Sweden. It's been imported from USA in 2012, and looks tidy overall, if a bit cheap compared to market prices. Mileage is 105k km, so 65k miles.
What problems would you foresee with owning and maintaining a US-market RX400h in Europe? I have no idea of the possible differences between US and EU versions, but with differing legislations stuff like the LS600h hydrocarbon valves, apparently a US-only thing, spring to mind. Likewise, I fear there could be some US-specific parts that a dealer here would not have in their catalogue...?
Looking at photos, the exterior looks alright, though the wheels look curbed. The tow bar attachment looks pretty hardcore, and the HYBRID badging on the doors indicates a 2008 as it is supposed to be, if I'm right. Interior looks ok, though the drivers' seat could use cleaning and conditioning, and there are weird holes on the centre console, passenger side. Probably leftovers from a phone mount installation.

Not sure of the differences between NA (north america) and EU configurations, though all rx400h's were built in Japan. I would imagine certain things had to be retrofitted/swapped to meet EU guidelines (DOT headlamps to whatever EU uses). I doubt you would have any major issues though, the core vehicle will likely be exactly the same. If you do run into an issue with a US specific part, they are easy enough to get in the US and have shipped.
