Default Tire recommendations?

We just added a 2008 RX350 to the fleet and like the car so far. It does need tires in the front as they are worn. The rear has a relatively new set of Pirelli Scorpio Verde tires. I'm not a fan of them as I find them noisy as they age. I want a tire that will be quiet on the highway and yield the best gas mileage. What type of tires do you have? What do you recommend? The tire sites are a lot more confusing than they used to be, hence the question.

When I bought my RX, it had new Michelin tires on it. They were pretty good all the way around, traction, noise, etc. Down side is that they wore out pretty quick. I have Goodyear now but they are definitely noisier.

Lots of threads on tires, but take a look at the Michelin Defender LTX M/S. The one to avoid, the Michelin Premier. Quiet tire, but worn at 27k.

I have the same car, and I am absolutely happy with the Michelin Premier. Michelin sells a whole lot of them so there must be a reason for it.

I have michelins on my rx400h right now, believe they were dealer installed. They are getting towards the end of their life, but I will check the model and what mileage they were installed.

edit: oh, and they are nice and quiet, and handled snow fine past winter.

My experience with 2004 RX330 AWD with 235/55/18 tires in Colorado. As always, YMMV.

My tires are 4 years old and have about 20k miles on them. Id say they have maybe 10 or 15k miles left. Not great.

I love the Bridgestone Dueler H/L Alenza Plus tires I have on my rx400h. Quiet, handle well and reasonably priced compared to other tires folks like on their RXs.

I gather it all depends on your driving style and preferences - in the same thread Micheline Premier was frowned upon by one contributor and praised by another.
My Michelin Premier A/S has just passed 50K mark after 4 years of use and still has plenty of life in them. Quiet, secure handling and stamina to NY weathers - both hot and cold. Michelins are known for their occasional dry rot problems, but their warranty department thru a dealer is outstanding. I am prepping for another set in about 10K or less.

Michelin Latitude Tour on my wife's 08 RX350. Ride is good and quiet. The down side is price.
