Could we not make them ourselves with a small lathe using hard plastic, how about brass .. i have these jets out of old brit Triumph carb
Even easier that that.
Honestly I wish someone would do a diy fix for this.
The rubber/silicon tiny bumper disentegrates behind the control button and that's what makes it go dead. Tiny as in the size of a "Tick Tack" if I remember.
Need to have the unit apart to see size and dimensions needed for a replacement bumper, maybe no shaping needed if ordered perfect size.
*Original bumpers look cyndrical but are hollow and "crush down" when the control button is pushed. See like above here for pics: http://twwongtai.com/product_info.php?no=299
Something like this material may work if can mold to shape as needed- rubbery.

the replacements are hard plastic so Mark said bet i could make out of a drape rod lol
Yeah could probably chuck up a 3" piece in a lathe and turn some pieces down for pennies plus the labor of course, would be like cutting butter on a lathe but can turn them down round..
Thinking a mold for silicone would be easier for DIY but I don't know- all I know is the orignail OEM's will ALL fail eventually so it will be more of a problem as time goes on.
Only thing I don't like about the idea of hard plastic replacements is the loss of the soft button feel when pressing the control buttons but maybe it's not that bad if doing all 4 buttons.
At least the feel will be consistent but more rigid and no springy soft feel to them.
Mine temp was stuck on 'Max-low.' I bit the bullet and spent $72 (with shipping) for these tine parts. Fortunately they worked, and I did both buttons. The passenger side was working, but once apart, the original silicone part was crumbling.
Yes, these are WAY over priced, but the fixed my issue. Easy DIY job if you want to save money on the labor, haha.

I had the small actuator which is overall 8.9mm long with a 3.8mm diameter spigot 7.4mm long and a 1.5mm flange of 6mm diameter made by 3D printing in Barbados at a cost of US17.50 for the 2. Used some white lithium grease to lubricate the control pivot points and the actuator contact points. did this today and it is working perfectly in my 2003 Harrier 240G which is basically the RX 330 Lexus.

Great you got the temp rockers fixed, even thou it costs more then they should......
I spent the $60 plus $12 shipping and bought the little pieces. The old ones were in bad shape. The DIY part was not bad at all, it took about 1.5 hours taking my time. It would be great to have easier and cheaper access to these parts. I wonder if a 3-D printer would work?
Hey all. I had the same limp d*ck button issue. I took everything apart. Then I thought long and hard what to do. At first I was going to switch out the passenger rubber piece as we can control both climates with the drivers side buttons. However, I had time to kill so I took a white eraser from a brand new mechanical pencil. I took out the good rubber piece that was working for clicking the temperature up. Then I used an exacto knife and whittled it down to match the original rubber piece. Then I smoothed out the new piece by erasing it on paper. Then I put everything back together and it is working ****. So yeah, no 3D printing or other materials or tools needed. Easy Peasy. I have a 2003 Toyota Harrier RHD, which is a 2004 - 2009 Lexus RX330 from Japan. Bing bang boom. Peace!
Quote me for Lexus car 2005 model, RX 330 AC control panel I need, pl send me details

My question is can I just replace the temperature control portion of the ECU ? Any information you could give me would be greatly appreciated. Enclosed is picture of the temperature control button.
New to the forum, I had this problem with my 2004 RX330 and read everything I could find on the problem. I started with Bajan's dimensions and measured an unbroken part from my car, drew the part in Tinkercad and printed it on a 3D printer. The result is not perfect but it fits and seems to work fine. Here is the link to the file on Thingiverse: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:6340598

Awesome job friend.
Those look good.
It's hard to tell from a pic but if you feel like it and post a pic with it next to a dime or something that would be cool, just to show some size reference.
For anyone who hasn't seen these, they are teensy tiny.
Even at $20 a set it would be a steal just not to have to make them but at $70 a set, come on now. Haha
Hi everyone, just wanted to let you know I have fixed the crumbling temperature button contact issue on my RX330. It was only allowing the temp to go down, not up - on both sides.
I bought the replacement contacts from http://twwongtai.com/ paying with PayPal, and then I installed them this weekend.
I made an explanatory video to show how it's done - it's not really that hard, once you have all the equipment out of the dash and the screen unit freed.
Check it out: https://youtu.be/gFnb6NFf8Pc
Hope that helps, cheers from Down Under
Hi Mark,
I just went to the twwongtai website and I don't see the parts.
2005 RX330 with passenger side broken temp switch!
Hey Gang,
Yep, now I'm having this problem with my passenger side. Just happened. (Of course, when its now getting cold and you need the heat!). The temp UP function is broken, so its stuck on 70, which is fine in the summer, but not now. First of all, I'm so thankful to this club bc its often a pain in the butt to find solutions to the simplest things. I talked with Lexus on this, including the service manager who I know well, and apparently as good as Lexus is, they were very short-sided on some things----especially on this generation RX. I even mentioned stupid things like not being able to simply pop off speaker grills because the "geniuses" at Lexus decided to make the whole speaker "grill" a molded part of the whole freaking door panel, so if you want to get to your speakers, you have to take off the whole darn panel! (But I digress.) The manager did agree with me on this that yes, Lexus was short-sided on some things, and designing serviceable, pop out, plug in switches and controls was one of those areas. In fact, the Lexus Parts Department told me the only way to have Lexus fix this issue is to go through what they call the "Lexus Exchange Program", whereby their service department, NOT YOU, have to remove the panel and then they would "exchange" it for another one for a low, low price of $1800-$2500! Get that?!
Even if you know how to do it yourself (which I assume we all do here), in order for Lexus to "exchange" it, you have to pay THEIR service department the labor cost of removing it, THEN pay that absurd price for a replacement! I don't know about you guys, but I think they need to rename their "Exchange Program", bc that's not an exchange at all. An exchange would be something like a core on an alternator, etc. The service manager agreed with me that I should try to find the part myself and do the job, or find a replacement panel online.
Anyway, I've read all the posts here and obviously the easiest fix would be just to find a replacement panel and swap them out, keeping the original for parts that might fail in the future. Other than that, replacing the individual switch/part would be the way to go, but I just don't know about price of panel vs. individual part (I've seen the comments about it being way overpriced). I've also read the posts about using a 3D printer, which would be great, but I'd have to find a place that would do such work, and I don't even know where to begin. The post about using a mechanical pencil eraser is interesting, but I'm wondering about rubber vs. plastic, and how you attach/replace the part? Super glue? (I haven't looked at it yet, so I don't know.)
My question to you all is which way to go, but more importantly, any sources, directions, etc., for where to find any of this stuff other than what you've mentioned here. I used the link to that Taiwanese parts supplier but didn't see the availability of the parts. Does it come from Taiwan, or are there any state-side (US) suppliers/vendors available that anyone could steer my way?
Also, are there any 3D printer services that do this kind of stuff that anyone could recommend? I'm asking all these questions up front BEFORE I take the panel off so as to get all my ducks in a row and not have any surprises.
BTW: Mine is with a Nav.System and the Lexus P/N for mine is 86110B.
