Front Seat Removal :: 2007 RX350
Basic question, but want to be safe. I need to take out my front drivers seat. Do I need to disconnect the battery, or just unplug the front seat airbag plug(s). I was told by a non-mechanic to just make sure the car ignition has been switched off for at least 1/2 hour to allow and residual voltage to dissipate. Thoughts please?

If it was me I would just take the time to disconnect the negative side battery terminal. The only downside is resetting the windows, sunroof, clock, etc. The upside is not getting a surprise deployment of the airbag.

you can just disconnect it. the air bag requires voltage to the trigger. However, if you have the key in the ignition in Acc or even turned on. you will get ABS codes for that seat
