How do I remove driver's seat?
I need to have some leather repair done to the driver's seat of my new-to-me (more on that later) 2003 RX. Will use the same shop that did a similar repair on my 99 RX. But this time I think I will simply remove the seat and take it to them. Any advice? I assume that I should disconnect the battery first. Any trick to disconnecting the airbag, seat heater, and seat motor harnesses? Thanks.

With a little bit of research I found the answer to my own question. Back in 2010 LexMex posted a how-to for changing Bank1 Sensor 2, which requires removal of the driver's seat. However, he did not disconnect the battery. I thought that was always required when disconnecting airbag connections; the side airbags in the Gen1 RX are in the seat bolsters. Thoughts?

One should always disconnect battery before working on anything in the car.
You may need power to raise and move the seat to access the bolts. Once that is done, disconnect the battery.
One should be very careful in testing connectivity with VOM meter as you dont want to send dc test voltage into the air-bag module.
* Make sure the Key is out of the ignition when you disconnect [wait couple of mins after removing the key before you disconnect].
[All of the above is to provide safest work environment].
