my understanding that this is quite do-able and the people that provide the service usually charge a couple of hundreds for this and the seller can easily recoup the costs. The only thing is that sometimes there are multiple computers in the car and if the alteration doesn't sync up, it may cause issues down the road. Best to make sure there are ways to cross reference the mileage..... carfax is a good source
