Model options and pkg history
Is there an official website or somewhere on the web where I can go find out which options pkg was offered for each and the region it was offered in? it would also be nice to find out what options were bundled in each pkg. e.g. Preimum Plus pkg? what was in there? and did it vary from year to year?

When doing my research for a 2nd Gen, I also was curious to this information. Unfortunately I couldn't find anything official as the internet wasn't quite as full swing in '04-'09 as it is now.
If I'm correct in assuming this info is to research what vintage car would be best to buy, what I realized is you just have to look at the overall mechanics of each vintage and decide which one you prefer most. I used USNews' website which reached as far back as 2008 with ratings and they named 2009 as the best model year for RX ever. If you're ok with the ride and mechanics, probably the best place to start since you can effectively upgrade any of the other parts with relative ease.
For instance, I just purchased a 2008 350, had 38k miles on it which was the big selling point for me. No ML, no Nav, no rear DVD players built in, but had all the guts I wanted and am now in the process of upgrading anything and everything I want. In my opinion, you sort of get a "newer" vintage in the end, but more a la carte and much much cheaper than buying everything that's ALMOST got what you want.
My 2 cents.

I'm curiously lurking at this point for a friend. As my signature line says, I already have 2 RX's in the family but sort of ran into the 2008 RX's by an accident while doing some contrast and compare with the Gen 3 RXs. Apparently, the Gen 2's had really solid build and excellent paint quality.
We would need AWD, rain sensing wipers, ML, AFS. I'm indifferent about the NAV. And don't want to radar based cruise control nor chrome wheels. But 18's would be good.

This website has brochures you can view however, they are low resolution and kinda hard to read.

I purchased the Premium PK 08 RX350. I think the only difference with the Plus is that it had the ML sound addition. Hope this helps.
Mine has the following:
chrome 18s
rain sensing wipers
auto steering wheel
memory seats
seat heaters
AFS
that buttery interior leather
