2008 rx350 buying advice
Hi everyone,
I am gonna pull trigger on a 90000 miles 2008 rx350. Before that, I would like to hear some advice from you guys on some special attentions I need to take for this purchase. For example what part of the car tends to fail for this age, so that I will check that during the inspection.
Thank you very much!
Kavin

We recently got one and love it!! I have replaced a few minor things. It has a bouncy ride so i am buying new struts, hence the reason for being on here...Good luck!

Check the radiator for leaks, you can do that by popping open the hood and looking behind the radiator to see if there is any pink residue around the condenser lines.
Other things that may need to be replaced are leaking power steering column and brakes pads and rotors. You probably need to put a mechanic to inspect those.

I bought an 08 a couple weeks ago with 38k miles on it. Within 50 miles of driving got the check engine light, catalyst converter needed replacing = $1.8k. Not covered under warranty. Not sure how to check for that before hand, but if it's a private seller you should take it to a mechanic to get it looked over.

I think that it may have either been a bad O2 sensor or condensation in the fuel line and fuel tanks that caused the sensor to trip up the CEL, especially since your RX sounds like it has been been sitting for a awhile before being sold.
Hopefully you did an inspection yourself or took your RX to another mechanic (non-dealership mechanic) for a 2nd opinion to confirm that your catalytic converter was bad before shelling out the $1,800 to get it replaced.

I also hear about this ABS Actuator issue. https://www.clublexus.com/forums/hyb...extension.html
was that for the hybrid model only or was it common for the whole model line up?
