I am contemplating purchasing a 2009 RX350 with 140,000 miles.What is recommended to pay particular attention to? I realize fluids, oil, tires. Would timing chain need adjusting?

No check engine light, water pump, drive axles, oil leaks, rack and pinion for leaks...oil changes and transmission fluid for dark color or burnt smell for a start.

Timing chain is supposed to last the life of the vehicle's engine, so probably not.

You should change the ATF (Automatic transmission fluid) and check the radiator and power steering for leaks though

If it hasn't been done:
- spark plugs
- intake gaskets (if spark plugs will be replaced since the manifold will most likely come out)
- PCV valve
- alternator (I usually get ~100K out of most cars I have owned/worked on)
