Default Broken captive nut Air filter Cover

Had my 2007 Lexus RX 350 at lube stop and they broke the bolt off in the captive nut air filter , I’ve ordered a new nut and bolt from my local Lexus dealership but I can’t seem to get the nut out of the housing , does anybody know how that nut comes out

A picture would help us to understand the issue...

You need to use a 3rd party hosting site. And then copy the link and post it. Like Photobucket or something. Google has a hosting site, too.

I think you're talking about the square nut that the bolt goes down into. That nut is just pressed into place. Just wedge a screwdriver or something and it will pop out. Mine has a hard time staying in so I have to hold it in place when I'm screwing.....
