I seem to have picked up an issue with my reversing camera.

When the car is placed into reverse I no longer receive the feed from the camera. The feed does not show the camera feed (instead some jumbled colours - but nothing recognisable as a visual feed) but does show the augmented parking lines.

The head unit display functions correctly in all other modes.

When the car is placed in reverse I have the reverse lights active - I believe this rules out the fuse that feeds the camera and reverse lights.

I suspect this would be something a Lexus dealer would charge me an arm to replace!

I tried today to gain access to the camera unit - but was unable to figure out how I should do this? I was hoping to confirm that all the wiring at the camera unit was in good order.

 

i would guess camera is at fault. everything is switching correctly as per your description.

I would like to gain access to the camera unit and check its wiring. And should that not fix it be able to buy and fit the part myself (saving a bit of money from the dealer).

Does anyone know how to gain access to that area of the rear door?

i have a 2007 400h and i don't have these parking lines.Ever.

 

an ebay ntsc camera (<$10) will work. You need to find 1 you can mount, or you can re fit into the OEM housing
