Getting my loaded RX 330 on June 26th - cant wait.
I was curious as to how the dvd knows to play on the navigation screen when in park. Do you select a button on the nav tell it to switch to the rear DVD system and does it then know to play the audio through the Mark Levinson system. Or does it automatically play the DVD through the nav when you are in park. Really curious as to how this is set up. My dealer doesnt even have any with the DVD system yet for me to look at.
Ignition on, insert disc into DVD player, gear selector in Park or Neutral, set parking brake. Press "disc" button on radio stack: one time for CD audio, a second time for DVD audio (from entertainment system), and a third time to bring up the video on the nav screen. You can touch the nav screen to bring a selection of buttons to change the display or program the DVD. These same functions can be programmed from the rear DVD console or the remote - but the front screen is more intuitive to me.
Note that the video on the nav screen looks considerably better than that on the rear screen - better resolution, improved contrast range, more faithful color.... The ML audio sounds pretty good on the movie track. BTW, the DVD player will play any MPEG-2 file (DVD or SVCD). I burned a series of discs last night to carry in the rear console so that I can do product demos for clients on remote locations - or even on the way to lunch. Hey, I've gotta justify this thing to my accountant!
