This SUV has failed to start on 3 different occasions, with 3 different weather conditions present. Weather conditions seem to NOT be a factor. My mechanic has checked the battery after two of the incidents. He concluded each time that the battery is in excellent condition and does not need replacing. What else could cause this type of problem...Alternator? Solenoid? Starter switch? Starter motor? Cracked distributor cap? Help...I have resorted to enrolling in CAA so that I am not stranded although generally when I have needed CAA in the past, so does half the population of Ontario so the lines are always busy.

You have not provided nearly enough information to even guess at the issue. When it doesn't start does it turnover normally just not start? Does it turnover slowly? Does it just click? Does it do anything? Is it after sitting for a long time? After driving for a long time??
