Program Assist Button It's on the side of the box and and apparently it can be used in place of the hood switch. The kicker is you still have to ground out the gray wire for it to do anything at all and that's what I was missing. I was expecting just pressing/holding it would do something. So I should be able to figure out what's next although I hope I don't have to redo anything with the idatalink.
Making progress. Tach is next I think as its clicking relays like it's trying to start but nuttin happens.

No luck so far. Remote is programmed, auto-tach set (5 flashes) but when trying to start it makes a bunch of clicks and beeps but doesn't actually turn the crank. My guess is that it needs to be programmed with the bypass.

If you want to test if the RS unit works itself, put the key into the ignition but don't turn it (keep it before ACC, ON, and START). Then remote start it. This is a trick I use to make sure the RS unit is wired right if the bypass isn't. If it starts, then well have to figure out the bypass.

Well. clicking sound means one of the high current relay for starter motor could be flaky flaky(maybe pitted contacts). They look like a small cube in black color. Often they wrap it with electrical tape.

I ended up getting help with this. All starter settings and bypass config were wiped out. Installed a hoodpin (my mechanic said he get's PO'd seeing any starters installed without a hoodpin for safety reasons!) flashed bypass to current and everything works like a charm!
thanks for the tips!
