Default No audio sound

I just installed a rear view mirror wireless backup camera. I got power for the mirror from the map light plug. I should have disconnected the battery, but I did not and I blew a 7.5 amp fuse. The backup system works now , but I have no sound on my radio/cd system. The radio comes on, changes channels, etc, but no sound. One other thing that no longer works is the seat memory buttons, Everything else seems okay. Can anyone tell me what I have done and what to try to fix my problem?

What fuse did you blow? Have you tried disconnecting the battery anyways to reset the car?

It was the fuse for the map lights. I did disconnect the battery a couple of times and checked any fuses connected with the radio system.

Default amplifier was the problem

My amp went bad, It had been acting up before, volume not responding to vol **** adjustment. I talked with a radio repairman and said he had seen a lot of amp failures in the Lexus.

Interesting, do you know where it is located? Been considering upgrading it myself, haven't took the time to pull the glove box or passenger chair.

It's more likely you shorted the amp. ask me how I know.

The amp is under the rear seats. post #34.

I put in a Clarion head unit and bypassed the factory amp by wiring straight to the speakers. The sound is great, now have a screen for back up camera, navigation, Bluetooth and other features my old system was lacking. The factory amp is in the wall behind the rear passenger seat, not easy to get access. The new head unit puts out more power than the factory amplifier. Very pleased with the results.
