Default E brake problem

Hello all . I am new to the forum . I recently purchased an 07 rx350 with 58000 miles . Today I tried the ebrake for the first time . After releasing it the light shut off however it was still slightly activated . There was resistance while pressing the gas . It eventually broke free but on the highway I noticed some shaking once I hit 60 . Eventually that stopped too .

The problem that I am having now is that I still feel very slight resistance while accelerating . When I first start the car and pull out of my driveway there is a pop from the front of the car which goes away imediatly . It only makes that nois3 once . Also when coming to a stop I hear a squeak . The shaking is gone and it is defiantly driveable but I do not think it is fully disengaged . Is there any way I can fix this on my own ? money is extremely tight right now dude to an illness is my family . Thanks

Dan

I wouldn't drive it till you jack up the rear, take the wheels off and have a look.

Not sure what the 'pop' sound is, at the front of your car, when you first pull out. I have a 330, and I have none of those issues. sounds like the rear brake is sticking. perhaps something as easy as lubing the cable will fix it, don't hafta to take the wheels off for that.

I good search you tube about sticking E brakes, for DIY help. on ebay you can find a good used e brake if you need it.

Default fixed

Thanks for the reply but I think it's fixed . I pulled it up as much as I can with my foot and now everything seems to be back to normal .

If pulling the pedal up with your foot "fixes" it, you have a cable problem where it is corroded in the sheath and binding instead of sliding smoothly.
