Default Gas Door Hinge

I couldn't find this part online? This is the door hinge for the gas cap door. It won't allow us to pop open the door.

I have to put a soda bottle and move the seat forward to keep the gas button depressed to unlock the gas door.

Thanks!

pretty sure its part of the body, not sold separately.

i would be inclined to repaired what youve got. perhaps find a way to pop the hinge pin out. and insert a new one.

Unfortunately the hinge is sold as a unit with the gas door. The assembly is riveted in to the body.
The unit comes unpainted and requires you to order special rivets from lexus. There are two approx 1/4 rivets that need to be drilled out and replaced. I had to order a heavy duty rivet gun to handle the job.

Hope this helps

Good to know cmontel727. My door isn't broken, but I want to replace it at some point. In Oregon (like New Jersey) we aren't allowed to pump our own gas and the jack*** gas pumping guy ran into the door while it was open and creased it. Gah!

Did he or the gas station pay for the repair?

No...I didn't notice it until a couple weeks later when I was filling my gas myself in Washington. By that point I figured it was too late to go back. I know it was him though because I saw him run into it.

Had the same problem with mine the other day.
Mine opened but I needed a credit card to pull it all the way open.

When it was finally opened I just pulled the gas door (hinge side) toward me.
now it pops open a bit easier
when it is closed it does show that it does not line up but I rather that than not be able to full gas.

Just came up with a great hack if your gas hatch won't open due to broken clip. See small (smallest size) binder clip in photo. Works Great!

OP, you can fix that by removing the hinge pin (the bent wire), meausuring it, then simply getting a new piece as neither the hinge nor door look damaged. Using calipers you should be able to find that hardened steel wire at a good hobby store or possibly spme Michael's stores they usually come in 3' lengths made by a company called "K&S tubing"... Amazon may also carry them. For the top to hold it in place there are "wheel collars" made by Dubro you could use instead of trying to bend that thicker wire as shown... total cost would be under $10. It is also possible that a simple nail could work if the diameter was close enough
