Welcome to Club Lexus, Eddie2086.

If you are referring to the base itself, it is not easily replaced. How bad is it? Can you post a picture?

As with most topics regarding your RX, you will usually find an existing thread on the topic from past experiences. Such as:

Yes, it just screws in. I replaced mine about three years ago with a fin antenna and I may have the old mast in the car somewhere. I'll take a look and if it's still around you are welcome to it. Don't get too excited, I haven't seen it in years but I rarely throw those kinds of things away. If I find it I will PM for your mailing address.

I attempted to repair a friend's RX antenna and it needs replacement of the base. It is an involved DIY. You have to go under the roof liner.

Maybe Carver can shed light on how easy it was to replace with the sharkfin antenna.

Carver?

Two minute job. The base of the antenna stays in place. The swivel part of the base where the mast screws in is where you attach the wire antenna contained in the fin. Clean the area with alcohol, peel the double sided tape, align the fin and stick it over the base, press down. Done.

Carver thanks. I almost bought one. It is a big sharkfin that encloses the whole base! Thanks for jogging my memory which nowadays need a lot of jogging...

What may take getting used too with a shark fin antenna is the off center look.

Mine, I just fold it forward, not as noticeable, however my top is bald. The roof rack has been off since I bought the car, after they replaced the cross bar due to a TSB.

The black stick is off center, does that look odd? The fin looks good, much better than the stick. Carwash proof so far.

It does look nice. Did you have to get it painted to match the car?

White comes from Beat-Sonic in the correct color code for the RX Crystal White. Not sure about other colors.
