Letter from Lexus headlight condensation....
Hello,
I received the letter from Lexus this morning concerning the moisture in the headlights. I replaced one headlight two years ago due to this problem. A year ago I replaced the other, disappointing to say the least. I was charged $1200.00 for the first headlight and only $950.00 for the second. I was told that Toyota lowered the price as many customer were disappointed. Somehow the $950.00 seems to be no bargain when I think back to a 1994 Saturn I have owned for nearly 20 years. No major problems and the headlights are just fine!

That struck a nerve... I have a 1997 Saturn SC1 that has never had a single problem, it always starts no matter if its 100 degrees or 10 below and the headlights are crystal clear. Amazing since the car only cost just a little over $12K new.
This one guy told me the back of the lexus headlight is not well sealed. Claims it is very easy to use a medical syringe to add water, if necessary. He claims this is best as its easy to keep water away from the bulbs.
On a totally separate topic, I love my new head lights. Makes the vehicle look brand new.
The headlight style we use creates a ton of heat and is extremely bright. Much brighter than the , but susceptible to water getting in due to it needing good ventilation.

Which dealership did you take your car to in CA? My drive side headlight fogged up after this last rain. I. May need to do he syringe trick to get them both warrantied
Noticed problem after two days of rain in Florida. I went to Lexus of Clearwater(FL.) and they took care of it on the spot--no drama, no b.s, no "Come back later..."
I was two months from end of nine year/any mileage secondary warranty.
Thanks formall the posts and info here!

When my (bought used in 2010) 2004 RX330 developed moisture in both headlight assemblies, I dried and sealed them in 2011 with silicone using mandyfig's great write up, but the moisture eventually came back. In 2014, I got ZLB letter from Lexus that described both primary and secondary coverage periods for this issue. In December 2014, moisture occurred in my drivers side headlight, so a local dealership replaced it. But, the passenger side was dry, so it didn't warrant the repair. But 15 months later (and thanks to El Nino), moisture appeared in the passenger side headlight assembly. I brought it in to a local Lexus dealer who replaced it no questions asked.
Kudos to Lexus for supporting a 12 year old product.

Oops! Sorry. Secondary warranty is good for NINE years from date of original purchase from dealer with no mileage limitation--not from date vehicle was purchased used. In other words, time is running out for 2007 RXs...
Critical date is day the car was purchased from dealer--has to be nine years from the date of purchase, or less.
