Default any tips on getting behind instrument panel?

hi all

my 07 RX350 has developed a minor, but annoying, buzzing rattle from somewhere behind the steering wheel. It happens when the car is under load when the weather's cold. eg when reversing at low speed.

The problem dissappears when the car is warm, and also doesn't occur when the weather is warm (but the car is cold, if you know what I mean....)

Anyway, I've tried reaching up from below (near the pedals). That was a nightmare!

Any tips on how I can access the wiring harnesses/other equipment in that area behind the instrument panel? Perhaps there are some dashboard side panels I can remove?

thank you

Satz

You could try going in through the cluster. Just fully extend the steering wheel and pull the bezel of the cluster straight toward your chest. There will just be a few screws holding the cluster in.

hi Jakenbake
did you mean the instrument cluster? Any idea where the screws holding that would be? I extended the steering wheel but couldn't see any screws

many thanks

There are no screws hold in the bezel (plastic piece in front of the cluster) its just held in with clips. Once that is removed you remove the cluster with 4 screws

Thanks RXPhil. I should have been more clear.
