FYI for anyone who just needs to replace the rubber button cover and not the whole switch, replacements are all over ebay now for under $8. I picked one up last October and installed it without issue.

The links to the pictures in the first post are broken. Any suggestions?

Default I want to buy one

I want to buy one!!! Where do I go? Do you have any? I'll pay top dollar, maybe up to $2,000 for this piece. Just let me know.

But, unfortunately, this post was from 2018, and recent responses show the OP is MIA. Also appears that aftermarket company stopped making it.

Could've been cool.

go to e-bay and search for this - trunk hatch liftgate switch latch release button rubber cover

Search results came back with 283 listings. Hopefully that is a sufficient quantity for you to choose from.

Is there any way to get @defo 's original 2013 post with the pics showing? I've refreshed and still no pics. I have the part and need to do this. The link in the sticky just goes here.
There is a guy on Youtube who shows you how to just pull the switch out, 2 screws from the outside, and then unplug it from the cable. I am tempted to go that route since I am thinking how often is the cable the problem anyway?! My switch mostly works but not when it gets cold and of course all the rubber/plastic molding is gone. I may go that route, any thoughts? I could keep the cable and do it later if needed.
It is strange how Toyota engineered some of these. I just did the same part on my LS, and they sell you just the switch. You still have to pull the trunk liner, not difficult, and then it is an easy plug and play.

Unfortunately, no. The pictures were most likely on a hosting platform and were either deleted or the hosting platform required payment and won't allow for use throughout the internet.

Thanks, @WhiteUCF . Ah yes, technology was different 12 years ago. Normally I am a technology whiner, but some things have gotten better. I may try the switch-only method first and see how it goes. I have some confidence is pulling plastic apart, but when it's getting colder, and it's 18 years old...and I do not react well when I damage my cars.

@CA2WALS430 I was able to find all of the pictures. They are in order, just smashed together. When I get time, I'll quote the original post and add the pictures in order with the text.

@WhiteUCF , this is unreal! You are a magician! It was so nice of you to spend your personal time to do this. I am sure it will help others besides just me. There is one guy in Norway on Youtube who does the whole thing, but he is a little haphazard to follow so I do not think there is another comprehensive tutorial like this and these pictures are good.
Thank you so much again!

I woke up thinking about it this morning. I remembered the 'way back machine'. Got lucky they archived this before the pictures were gone. Somehow, the link is working now.. It is very slow to load but it'll give you everything you need!

The link works just fine. Thank you again.

READERS, EVERYONE - If you have never done this, I recommend doing it now before it gets worse. The link and pictures above are the easy part. The mess, oh the mess....that melted rubber gets all over everything. Ever little black speck will smear and require treatment. Every tool you use will be back coated and will require scrubbing with Acetone, paint thinner, or like me go with Dawn dish soap and alcohol. Your hands will be black. Mine had melted into the washers and the screw thread so they had to be soaked and scrubbed. Such a mess. If you go out there ready, I am sure it is more manageable, but I went out there for a 20-minute job....and HOURS later it was done. Be warned.
