All,

The brake rotor/discs on my 2004 AWD show rusted surface. The visible side (i.e. the side where you can see in between the wheel spokes) are brown and not shiny but the other side (the side you can only see by putting your head below the car) is shiny.

Does this point to sticky slider pins? Or the RX use a different caliper system?

This sometime happens to my other car (VW Jetta) and I have cleaned and lubed the slider pins various times, which solved the problem. Is the RX set up similar? If so, is it just the case of removing 2 No. retaining nuts to access the slider pins?

I found that there's a rubber piece on one of the slides. Mine was binding and had to go to 2 dealers to find the parts. You may want to replace the complete boot kit if water is getting in.

Will order a set of rubber booth first before I start stripping, I have a feeling that I might have to use heat gun to remove the slider pins.

I saw another DIY for Lexus RX 1999 which indicates that the rear slider pin is sleeved within the caliper holder, I hope the 2004 is not. Otherwise, it will be hard to get them out:
