Hello everyone.

I saw this clip on Youtube regarding aftermarket push to start ignition systems. What are your thoughts on it. Too much work. Not worth it? Good idea since several people had to replace broken keys.

Thinking it through it seems almost more gimmicky than a useful addition. It might not seem like much but having to step on the brake in order to get it to start is probably the deal killer for me. It just seems an unnecessary step for not much gain other than the novelty of it. Not that novelty is a foreign concept to me (see sig).

You do know most if not all cars with push start that's how you start it up, foot on brake then press button.

How sad! I'm still setting in the seat when I start the car with my archaic key, I guess adding a step is the price of progress!

With this setup I would think you lose the options that you have with the key such as, holding down the unlock to open all the windows and sunroof on a hot summer day. Also turning the key counter clock wise lock all the doors and roll up all the windows.

In wish the rx330 remote could roll the windows back up and close the sunroof too.

If you are the original owner from new and never had any of them changed, it is possible depending on what the defaults are for that setting. Have a look:

Its possible to keep those features and still add a push start. Just have to do the research.. I'm in the market for a rx400h and this is on my list of to do's along with minor mods.
