Default Need your suggestion ..

Hi All

I took a certified 2010 RX 350 done 28K miles about 2 weeks back and i observed that the gear shifter was tough especially during the initial start ( on a flat ground)

I brought it to the notice of showroom guys and they are changing the gearshift assembly thinking that some fluid might have been dropped over it by the earlier user.

Do you think it is an issue related to the shifter alone or some thing with the engine ?

Since I have an option to return back the vehicle I need your suggestion / opinion.

Cheers
Bob

Welcome to Club Lexus. Just so you know, the 2010 RX is a Third Generation model. This RX was purchased from a Lexus Dealership as a certified model, correct? The reason I ask is that some Non-Lexus dealerships take a Lexus on trade-in and misrepresent it to a customer as a certified model. ONLY Lexus can sell a certified and Lexus Certified vehicles are not transferrable.

If the change out of gearshift assembly solves the shifting problem you should be good to go.

Hi Rainbird
Thanks a lot . Yes this is purchased from a Lexus dealer as a certified model.

I will check once the vehicle is delivered back to see if it is comfortable or else can I ask them to take back the vehicle to avoid any future issues ? Though it is certified ?

Congrats, that CPO warranty is a great thing to have. Overall the RX is a very nice vehicle with few problems. If you decide to keep the vehicle, you would want to post any further comments or review comments by other owners in the Third Generation Forum. (2010 - 2013).

Believe that is referred to as the Pepsi Syndrome. Welcome to Club Lexus, bobvad.
