Anyone know when Lexus will redesign RX 350 / 450H ? Will it be in 2014 (2015 model) or in 2015 (2016 model)? I believe the next redesign should be the 4th generation, and so expect a big change !

 

Wouldn't look for anything major until the 2016 model year. Usually that long between generations. You will know a lot more by this time next year what will happen. Look first for the new NX to be released on the lower end of the Lexus SUV lineup.

 

I just traded my 2010 450h for a leftover 2013 450h and the dealer told me that the next generation RX would be the 2016 model year.

 

2016 MY sounds about right. There were 3 years between the 2010 MY and 2013 MY so I expect this trend to continue.

 

We get information way before dealers do so take that info with a grain of salt. Redesign will have a lot to do with sale figures as whether we get a full redesign, tweak or engine upgrade. Any of the three could be rolled out as 'new' Rx.

 

6 years is a pretty typical cycle between different chassis with an LCI thrown in half way through.

Most manufacturers will change simple things like headlights, bumper covers, minor areas of the interior, and software at the time of an LCI.

 

Agreed, 6 year cycle for the Gen 4 RX is highly likely for the 2016 model year (Summer/Fall 2015 release possibly). Gen 2 RX ran for 6 years if history is any indication...

 

Six years sounds about right. I believe that the second generation ran from 2004-2009. But with newer computer based design technologies, some companies are shortening the cycle. But with the rx still being the sales leader in the luxury segment, it still outsells the MDX by 2 to 1, I don't see the motivation. Thanks. Regards. Ned.

 

I am actually a Lexus Sales Rep in Westchester County NY .We were just told yesterday the the new MY2016 RX350 will be out in March of Next year (2015) Following the Launches of both the new RC Coupe and the new Smaller SUV the NX200 which are due to be launched this November. Right from our zone reps own mouth!

 

I can believe that since if memory serves me, G2 and G3 RXs have launched in the Spring time for the upcoming model year. That's good news!

Any word on whether it will be a 7-passenger or offer that capability?

This sounds most accurate considering 2010 was released end of March 2009 when I purchased mine.

 

It will be a full redesign 4th Gen, and if history repeats itself, it will share the same platform as the 2014 Highlander. The "minor" refresh (aka mid-cycle refresh) was from the 2013 model year with the addition of the spindle grill, F-Sport model, updated NAV, (some deletions), and other interior tweaks.

I bought my 2010 RX-350 for my wife on Feb 14th, 2009, Valentines day. To me that means the new 4th Gen RX will come out in June, 2014, not 2015.

 

June 2014, the New Rx will come out.
