Default 2009 IS350 - Left side-view mirror "loose" fixes (merged threads)

The side mirror on my '09 IS 250 has become loose and acts like a bobble head! Is there anyway to resolve the problem without spending a few hundred $$$? Can it simply be tightened?

Thanks,
Robert

I have noticed that both of my side mirrors get moved at the car wash and didn't used to. Have been unable to find any instruction on how or if they can be tightened. It may be a huge deal involving removing the whole door panel as doesn't appear can be done from the outside.

Anyone have an answer to this??

I think you may have to remove the mirror from each housing to access the bolt that holds it to the arm that's attached to the car. Maybe you could just tighten the bolt? Try searching for puddle lamp replacement threads. There is one that shows how to remove the mirror from the housing.

#1 - Shame on you for using a motorized car wash
#2 - Mirrors normally get tossed about within those things
#3 - Don't bother tightening, not worth your time

Thanks for the opinions and stating the obvious. Nothing wrong with using most modern car washes.

If you don't have a solution to the question don't comment. Thanks.

when i drive speeds of 60+ mph my left side view mirror vibrates so fast that it makes anything i look at in it very blurry. is this the same thing you're talking about? I might need to tighten it too

I have this same issue with my passenger side mirror. I replaced the puddle lights a while back and tried tightening it up but was unable to locate the correct nut to remedy the issue. If any one else has done this, I'd like to hear as well.

Take it back, let them fix it
As long as you didn't physically break it, they should take care of it for you.

did you swap out your puddle lights recently? possible the mirror isnt clipped back in. 2 hooks on top and 2 clips on bottom. push firmly around the middle of the mirror to see if it'll clip back in.
