Default This brings back some bad memories

Bought a 96 GS300 w/low miles. AFter 1st rainstorm, trunk was filled w/water.

Hit in back and not properly fixed by a hack body shop

Terrible job on the rubber gaskets.

This is NOT a DIY job. Pls take this to a good body shop and let them do it.

I don't have this problem but I did leave my sunroof open a little and when I drove some water came in and now the interior side walls between the front and rear seat are stained. Does anyone know how to get rid of the stains or what kind of fabric it is made out of?

When I removed my roof rack, I didn't seal the holes very well and hence water came into the cabin. If you have deleted the roof rails, I would suggest that you silicon the holes where the brackets for the cover were screwed into to solve the problem.

I applied plumbers tape on my screw bolts. No leak for me.

The dealer solved the problem by fixing some rubber. Didn't ask to pay a cent.

Hi Guys, I am relatively new to this, I found this post because I am having the same problem with my 07 RX 350. When it rains it leaks, exact same spot as in those pictures posted but not as bad. I did do a roof rack delete but I am positive this has been going on since I purchased the car. I am going to follow some advice and silicone the roof rack screw holes if this does not work I guess I will replace the rubber weatherproof seal on the gate. Does this sound like a good course of action. I would appreciate any help on the matter.

TSB for this is: L-SB-0019-09
It's a leak at the welds above the rear hatch struts. I'll try to upload a file for it, but sometimes they won't upload as the site I use to view doesn't like sharing them for some reason. If you can't open, email Lexus and ask them for a digital copy of the TSB I listed above. Lexus actually sends the car to the body shop and has the seam welded, on mine I just went over those seams with silicone, which worked for me.

Mine looked like it was tack welded there, as in not all the way across. Take clear or body colored silicone and go over seam. Leak gone. When I was negotiating to buy mine I noticed some dried water staining there around the C pillar on driver's side. Looked up all the TSB's and addressed them, (oil cooler, vvti, gas tank shield, etc.)
This is the site I use to look up TSB's, has most manufacturers:
