Default Is '30K basic service include brake fluid change'?

I am the 2nd owner of this 08 RX350. Based on the service histroy deom secure.drivers.lexus.com, it was serviced by the deal at 30k miles. The description is '30K basic service'. No detail is described. The only important item in this 30K service is brake fluid change. ALl others are 'inspections'. My question is does this 30K basic service include brake fluid change? What is the description of 30K service for your 07/08/09 RX350 if you have done 30K at the dealer which includes brake fluid change?

Yes - and no. The description of the 30K service (required) is the Lexus manual is exactly what you state. However, at my dealer in FL, they like to add items and also told me that the brake fluid doesn't need to be changed as specified (this was for the older RX300 I owned at the time - I only have 16K miles on my current 09RX350, and the dealer tells me that Lexus 'suggests' changing cabin and motor air filters, which is not the case, of course). I don't think anyone can tell you what 'basic service' means except the dealer who did it (but I suspect it does NOT include the brake fluid change because otherwise it would be called '30K mile service' or similar). I assume 'basic' means just oil and filter, and does not include even tire rotation. -- I would call the service manager at the dealer and ask. Good luck!

Check with the dealer to see if their system shows a more detailed explanation of what was performed at that 30K servicing. Should be more than what we see online. If not, would not assume it was done as pauljcl mentioned. If you do not see it... you cannot assume it.

I suspected that brake fluid has not been changed in that '30K basic service'. It is 48K now and just for peace of mind I am going to do the brake fluid change. and then keep 30K interval from now on. THanks for the comments.
