Hello
i know there are threads here about ipod kits and brands and from where to get them. but my concern there is a price diff, between the three brands (GTA carkits is 114$, dice elect. is 189$ , and vaistech is 199$ ) why is that?
i dont have nav or ML so im looking at the basic one to play ipod/iphone.
im thinking to go with the GTA since its cheaper, and does the same what the others do ( chargers my iphone and i can use my steering wheel controls )
any objections? thoughts?

thank you

Hi.

I just purchased the GTA last month and love it. No issues. Will do exactly what you're looking for (chargers my iphone and i can use my steering wheel controls ). There's also iSimple that you can get from Best Buy or Car Toys. I went with the cheapest. Basically, you're just paying for a cable connected to your factory stereo. They all have that and have the same functionality.

It doesn't look very clean but I just use a tape deck ipod adapter. $10 at Frys electronics.

When a call comes in while playing your ipod/iphone, the music fades away and you hear the call come in through the speakers. I just use the speaker on my phone since it's not too far away with my setup. Seems to work okay for me. I purchased a cup holder mount for my iphone at Target.

I have an 08. It also has the ML sound. I don't know if that has anything to do with it. The 09 I had didn't have a tape deck.

Sorry Benzat17. I can't speak to what the SAT button is. But your owners manual should be able to tell you what that is and how that works.

I have an 08 with nav and have the sat button as well as a casette player. I think the sat button means it is sat ready but not installed.

If you register your car online at https://secure.drivers.lexus.com/lexusdrivers/home
you should be able to pull up the owners manual online. I think you may even be able to order one from there as well.
