Default Lexus RX330 flip key case

Anyone have one of the following flip key case?
I wonder what is the lexus Emblem (LEXUS LOGO) made of.
Hope it is not just a sticker.

From what I've read, it's a sticker.

Is this a standard dealer thing or aftermarket? All the aftermarket ones i saw have really cheap plastic vs the nice sturdy (but NON-flippy) keys i have.

This is strictly aftermarket. And yes, from most reports these things are cheaply made.

The case it's very rugged. However the key is blank and must but cut for you car to work. I tried to get it done at the promise from the seller I could go to any Key shop and after a month I lost interest. I did not buy it to spend over $100 to get it laser cut by the dealership or a mobile shop.

Oh and by the way it does not save you any actual mass. It's very big.

If anyone has any easy solution to getting the key made please add it here lol!

I think one of the problems is the key blank is "long" so it an fit many models. It must be cut very carefully. Dosen't need a "laser" cutter. If done correctly the key will still poke out about a half inch out of the ignition even when fully inserted.

Try a search on this. I remember reading a 9 page topic on some forum recently.

Well, my switchblade key arrived today. It's really pretty well made and it is exactly the one in the picture above except I bought it from the 9 dollar guy.

I have a spare key from a wrecked 2005 so I will take the module from that and begin the adventure of getting it cut. it is the long key but that might be a plus to make sure there is clearance. As Infinirx said, this thing is big.

The "L" sticker is metal with tape on it, don't know how long that will stay on anyway. I think the novelty will wear off but it'll be a fine back up key, hard to lose!

i have the same key and the lex logo stays on very well. i went to a large locksmith that cut it for $35. others said over $70. call around to places that carry safes. they have more machines. and they need the car there to do it. also some places wont do it if the car has too many miles. something about the key being worn.
good luck
