Default Headlight issues

Does an ECU control the headlights. Been told I needed to replace mine for $1,400. Drivers headlight very dim and sometimes will go off. Could it be just a balist?

Is this what your dealer told you ? I would get a second opinion, but it could be the bulb, ballast or ecu. Their is also an igniter (supposedly) I thought thats what the ballast did.
