How to adjust auto-leveling projectors? Also, question about fog lights
The illumination from my headlights doesn't extend very far in front of my RX. It only seems to light up about 10 feet in front of me, which is pretty terrible. I have the auto-leveling projectors, so I'm not sure how to adjust them. Can they be adjusted the same way regular headlights are, or do they have to be electronically adjusted some how?
Also, an indicator light randomly lights up, on the left side just beside the tach.. it's an orange light, and I think is the fog lights indicator. Since I don't have the manual, I'm not sure what this indicator light is for, and why it keeps turning on and off... is it indicating that the bulbs are blown, or that there's an issue with them? The fogs don't turn on, at least.. I don't think they do. If they're turned on by the headlights switch on the steering column, then no they don't turn on.
If anyone could help me figure these things out I would greatly appreciate it.
Cheers

nevermind... found the online manual, the indicator light is indicating there's an issue with the auto-leveling system. great. potential problem with one or more of the 4, yes FOUR separate height sensors, each costing over $300.

Now that you say that, it makes sense because there was some minor damage to that area of the vehicle before I bought it, which might explain why it's causing an issue with the lights.

Are you sure? Because when I looked up the part online, it showed one for each corner. Only one would be a hell of a lot better.. if that's the case, I could have just bought the part and replaced the faulty one (assuming that's what it is).

It's at Lexus, they're gonna have a look at it. I found another parts store online that only shows the one part in the rear RH side, so that's promising news. Hope to get it fixed by the weekend, as I'll need proper lighting where I'm headed.

Dude, that thing is real easy to replace. If you have a jack, you can easily replace that yourself. Actually, it might just need to be cleaned. I took it apart on my RX300,and it was pretty clean. But I hear some of them get dirt in them, and dont function properly. So this may be another option.

you dont need a jack to swap out ur fog light bulbs. just turn your wheels in, then pop the plastic rivets in the front fender liner and you can gain access there. I installed HIDs for my fogs this way. took 10 mins.

They hooked up the code reader to it, didn't show any faults. I told them to keep looking, there's obviously something wrong, otherwise that indicator light wouldn't be lit on the dash and my headlights would illuminate the road properly. If they conclude it's the sensor, I'll do the work myself.
