Anyone ever heard of this? Electrical problem maybe.
2-3 nights ago, I parked my car in the garage last night. got groceries out of the back closed it up and went inside. In the morning I came back out and all 4 of the door windows were rolled halfway down? I got in the car and was driving down the street and sure enough My sunroof was cracked open too.
It's just my wife and I so no one else got in there for any reason.
Then last night when I came home I was cleaning out the car with the engine off but the key turned over. I had the radio playing while I was cleaning it. maybe 10-20 minutes and the battery died.
It charged itself up over the next 2-3 hours enough for me to drive it down to autozone. They checked out the battery and said it's good?
It does have a lot of corosion on the - side of the battery connector.
Any ideas what could be going on I don't want to take it in for another $200 diagnosis.
To begin with, clean the terminals and charge up the battery overnight. You may like to disconnect the battery for about 20 mins [you will loose all your settings].
This should clear out everything.
Check all your key remotes to make sure the buttons are lint free (remove the screw and cover and clean the shell and electronic module).
<FYI> By holding the unlock button down you can get in a mode where the windows roll down and the roof opens up.
It's a feature for the windows to roll down if you first unlock the doors and then hold the unlock button depressed for several seconds. I use it all the time to cool down the car before getting in. Could the button have gotten depressed in your pocket or wife's purse?
This sounds great to me:
" . . . and the battery died. It charged itself up over the next 2-3 hours . . ."
Where can I get one of those batteries that charges itself up?
