Default Extending steering wheel squeaking

As my steering wheel is extending, it makes a squeaking noise. This just recently started. Can I fix this on my own or do I need to take it to the shop.

Thanks

What is the year of your RX? If it's less than four years old your factory warranty would apply. In that case have the Lexus dealer fix it.

It is a 2005 and not under warranty. I was hoping there was a way to apply a lubricant to the system.

im going to the dealership tomorrow to have that feature turned off. They said it'll take 15 mins and not charging me. I can live without auto adjusting steering wheel when i pull the key in or out, lessen the chance of it breaking haha.

try this, there are 3 screws on the cover of the steering wheel.some you have to steer little so you can see them, take it off, take the 2 pieces cover like upper and lower, you will see the mechanism like long screws,i cannot remember now if there are 2 or 3,clean them with a brush, put some lithium electric lubricant,of course you have to put the key in the ignition back and forth so the mechanism will move,,,.be careful to put back the cover it should click on each other before putting the screws back,,,,good luck
